To Τμήμα Εικαστικών και Εφαρμοσμένων Τεχνών του Πανεπιστήμιου Δυτικής Μακεδονίας (Ελλάς) διοργανώνει το WAC 2021 Διεθνείς Συναντήσεις/Συνέδριο Το Περπάτημα ως Ερώτημα (International Encounters/Conference WALKING AS A QUESTION). Οι Διεθνείς Συναντήσεις/Συνέδριοθα πραγματοποιηθούν στην περιοχή των Πρεσπών. Η περιοχή των Πρεσπών, ένα μοναδικό περιβάλλον με δύο λίμνες (Μεγάλη και Μικρή Πρέσπα) είναι ο τόπος (locus) που αποτελεί το πεδίο μελέτης του περιπατητικού καλλιτεχνικού πρότζεκτ Εικαστική Πορεία προς τις Πρέσπες που οργανώνεται από το Πρώτο Εργαστήριο Ζωγραφικής της Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών του Πανεπιστημίου Δυτικής Μακεδονίας. Ξεκίνησε το 2007 και οι τρέχουσες Συναντήσεις/Συνέδριο αποτελούν την κορύφωση των δραστηριοτήτων της. To 2019 ένωσε τις δυνάμεις της με άλλους τοπικούς διεθνείς και εθνικούς εταίρους υλοποιώντας το WAC 2019 όπου πάνω από 250 σύνεδροι από όλο τον κόσμο συναντήθηκαν στις Πρέσπες για τις πρώτες Περιπατητικές Συναντήσεις/Συνέδριο. when over 250 participants from all over the world have met in Prespa at the first Walking Arts Encounters/Conference.

Κυριακή, 4 Ιουλίου έως Κυριακή 11 Ιουλίου, 2021: Περιπατητικές Συναντήσεις/Συνέδριο.
Το Κάλεσμα για Εισηγήσεις, Πρότζεκτ, Περιπατητικές Δράσεις, Κόμβους έχει ως σκοπό να διερευνηθούν οι αισθητικές της περιπατητικής τέχνης ως μια από τις κύριες διαδικασίες διερεύνησης του περιπατητικού περιβάλλοντος. Ως αποτέλεσμα υπήρξε η δημιουργίας της Περιπατητικής Κουλτούρας και δημιούργησε ένα νέο πεδίο της αισθητικής και συσχέτισε τη διάδραση του σώματος με το Τοπίο (και αντίστροφα). Ο καλλιτέχνης ή ο πολιτιστικός νομάδας ερμηνεύει το τοπίο ως ένα ανοικτό πεδίο όπου αυτός/τη προσλαμβάνει εμπειρίες και, μέσα από αυτές, αναπτύσσει ιδέες, έννοιες καθώς και το έργο του/της. Κατά τη διάρκεια του Περπατήματος δημιουργείται ένα ιδιαίτερο σύνολο συναισθημάτων και, μέσα από αυτά, σχηματίζεται ένας χαρακτηριστικός τρόπος έκφρασης κοντά στις αντιλήψεις της Ψυχογεωγραφίας.
Οι Εισηγήσεις και τα audio–papers* θα εξετάσουν τις διαφορετικές εκδοχές του περπατήματος ως ενός σύγχρονου τρόπου έκφρασης και κατανόησης του κοινωνικού περιβάλλοντος και του τοπίου (αστικού και υπαίθριου) όπου υλοποιείται η ανθρώπινη δραστηριότητα. Οι εισηγήσεις θα εξετάσουν επίσης το μέλλον της περιπατητικής πρακτικής και της δυναμικής της στην τέχνη, την αισθητική και τις εφαρμογές της στην παιδαγωγική.

Οι Κόμβοι. Ο κόμβος είναι ένα εταίρος οπουδήποτε στον κόσμο που επιθυμεί να οργανώσει τοπικά γεγονότα ή δραστηριότητες που συμβαδίζουν με τη θεματική των Συναντήσεων/Συνεδρίου των Πρεσπών και διαδρά στα ερωτήματα και τις συνθήκες που έχουν τεθεί στο δικό τους περιβάλλον/δίκτυο/περιοχή. Οι δραστηριότητες που θα λάβουν χώρα κατά την περίοδο 4 έως 11 Ιουλίου μπορούν να περιλαμβάνουν τοπικά περιπατητικά γεγονότα, διαδικασίες, συζητήσεις και να επιτρέπουν να βιωθούν από απόσταση από κάποιο άλλο συμμετέχοντα στις Συναντήσεις/Συνέδριο σε μια άλλη τοποθεσία. Οι εταίρου των Κόμβων μπορεί να είναι καλλιτεχνικές συλλογικότητες ή συλλογικότητες θεωρητικών ή οργανισμοί ή πανεπιστημιακά προγράμματα.
Το WAC 2021 Διεθνείς Συναντήσεις/Συνέδριο Το Περπάτημα ως Ερώτημα (International Encounters/Conference WALKING AS A QUESTION) υλοποιείται από την Εικαστική Πορεία προς τις Πρέσπες (http://visualmarch.eetf.uowm.gr/ ) σε συνέργεια με το MADE OF WALKING (V), ένα διεθνές πλαίσιο, forum, και δίκτυο καλλιτεχνών που αποτελείται από καλλιτέχνες, δημιουργικές συλλογικότητες και ερευνητές που είναι αφιερωμένοι/ες στις περιπατητικές πρακτικές και τις πρακτικές που σχετίζονται με τον ήχο και έχουν ήδη συναντηθεί στην Ελλάδα, τη Γαλλία και την Κύπρο από το 2016 (http://www.themilena.com/made-of-walking).
About the Encounters/Conference
The Department of Fine and Applied Arts of the University of Western Macedonia in Greece is organizing WAC 2021 International Encounters/Conference WALKING AS A QUESTION. The International Encounters/Conference will be held in the Prespa area Greece. The Prespa area, a unique environment with two lakes (Megali Prespa and Mikri Prespa), is the locus where the field research of the walking art project Visual March to Prespa, is taking place, organised by the 1st Painting Workshop of the School of Visual Arts of the University of Western Macedonia. It was initiated in 2007 and the current International Encounters/Conference is a culmination of its activities. In 2019 it joined forced with Made of Walking and other international, national and local partners, leading to WAC 2019 when over 250 participants from all over the world have met in Prespa at the first Walking Arts Encounters/Conference.

This Call for Papers, Artistic Projects, Walkshops. Hubs intends to elaborate on the aesthetics of walking as an art practice. In contemporary art, the walking practice has become one of the main processes of exploring the cultural environment. As a consequence, a Walking Culture has been created, defined by a new realm of aesthetics and related to the interaction of the body with the Landscape (and vice versa); the artist or the cultural nomad interprets the landscape as an open field where he/she obtains experiences and, through them, develops ideas, concepts and his/her artwork. A particular set of emotions is created during the experience of walking in the landscape and that shapes a characteristic venue of art expression close to the concepts of Psychogeography.
The papers and audiopapers* will examine the various aspects of walking as a contemporary way of expression and understanding of the social environment and the landscape (urban and rural), where human activity is realized. The papers will also examine the future of walking practice and its potential in art, aesthetics and in its applications in pedagogy.

The art projects and walkshops will be realized during the Walking Encounters. They will be realized either in situ during the Encounters/Conference and/or remotely in Hubs in various areas of the world. They will refer to the topic of the call, or elaborate on broader issues related to the body/bodies on the move, embodiment, the nomadic process, migration, the concept of home or other aspects of Walking Aesthetics.
The Hubs A hub is a partner based anywhere in the world who wishes to organize a set of local events or activities that align with the Prespa Encounters/Conference theme–and responds to questions and conditions within their own site/network/region. Their activities, during the period of 4-11 July 2021, may include local walking experiences, performances, conversations and panels allowing as well to be experienced on distance by an Encounters/Conference participant in an other location. Hub partners may be artistic or curatorial collectives, local networks or organizations or university programs.
The WAC 2021 International Encounters/Conference WALKING AS A QUESTION. is realized by Visual March to Prespes (http://visualmarch.eetf.uowm.gr/) in a shared framework with MADE OF WALKING (V), an international encounter, forum and network of artists, creatives and researchers dedicated to walking and sound practices, with gatherings in Greece, France and Cyprus since 2016 (http://www.themilena.com/made-of-walking).
